Immerse yourself in the timeless elegance of classical piano with "Piano Recital: Novaes, Guiomar," a captivating collection of performances by the renowned Brazilian pianist Guiomar Novaes. Recorded between 1919 and 1927, this album showcases Novaes' virtuosity and artistry through a diverse repertoire of classical masterpieces.

The album features 20 tracks, spanning a duration of 71 minutes, and includes compositions by celebrated composers such as Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt, and Albeniz. Highlights include the enchanting "Grande fantaisie triomphale sur l'hymne national brésilien, Op. 69," the delicate "Mazurkas, Op. 33," and the mesmerizing "Waldesrauschen (Forest Murmurs)" from Liszt's "2 Konzertetüden, S. 145."

Guiomar Novaes, born in Brazil in 1895, was a prodigy who began playing the piano at the age of four. By seven, she was studying with Luigi Chiafarelli, and her talent soon took her to the Paris Conservatory. This album, her first recording, captures Novaes at the age of 24, a decade after her remarkable entrance audition at the prestigious institution.
