With a career spanning decades, Chung has made an indelible mark on the world of opera and classical music, particularly noted for his exceptional interpretations. His recent appointment as the Music Director Designate of Teatro alla Scala, set to take effect in December 2026, underscores his esteemed position in the music world. Chung's extensive repertoire includes conducting 84 opera productions and 141 concerts for La Scala, a testament to his profound impact on the art form. Beyond his conducting, Chung is also a prize-winning pianist, adding another layer to his multifaceted musical career.
