      Heikki Sarmanto is a celebrated Finnish jazz pianist and composer, born on June 22nd, 1939, in Helsinki. A prominent figure in the Finnish jazz scene, Sarmanto has garnered international acclaim for his innovative fusion of jazz, rock, and Finnish folk music. Beginning his jazz journey in the 1960s, he has since created a diverse discography that includes symphonic and orchestral works. His music, often characterized by its harmonious blend of electric and acoustic instrumentation, offers a rich and immersive experience. Sarmanto's notable works include albums like "Äänet hämärässä" and "Sarmanto: Suomi - A Symphonic Jazz Poem for Orchestra," showcasing his versatility and depth as an artist.
