      Album Details

"On Broadway Vol. 4 or The Paradox of Continuity" is a captivating jazz album by the legendary Paul Motian, released in 2006 under the Winter & Winter label. This album is a contemporary update to Motian's ongoing "On Broadway" series, featuring a stellar lineup including Japanese pianist Masabumi Kikuchi and the extraordinarily talented saxophonist Chris Potter. The album also includes the vocals of Rebecca Martin, adding a unique dimension to the sound.

The album spans a variety of jazz styles, including cool jazz and free jazz, showcasing Motian's versatility and innovative spirit. With a runtime of just over an hour, the 13 tracks offer a rich tapestry of musical exploration. Standout tracks like "The Last Dance," "Never Let Me Go," and "Brother Can You Spare a Dime" highlight the album's blend of classic and contemporary influences.
