      Album Details

Dive into the avant-garde world of Olga Neuwirth with her captivating album "Orchestral Works," released on November 1, 2019, under the KAIROS label. This collection showcases three of Neuwirth's most significant orchestral compositions, offering a profound exploration of her innovative and diverse musical language.

The album opens with "...miramondo multiplo..." (2006), a five-movement work for trumpet and orchestra, featuring the virtuoso Håkan Hardenberger. This piece is a journey through various moods and characters, from the ethereal "Aria dell' Angelo" to the intense "Aria del sangue Freddo." Following this is "Remnants of Songs ... An Amphigory" (2009) for viola and orchestra, performed by the acclaimed Antoine Tamestit. This four-movement work is inspired by literary and musical fragments, creating a tapestry of sound and emotion.

The album concludes with "Masaot/Clocks without Hands" (2013), a powerful orchestral piece that premiered with the Vienna Philharmonic and Daniel Harding. This work is a testament to Neuwirth's ability to blend profound musical ideas with striking orchestral colors.

Throughout the album, the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester and the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Ingo Metzmacher, deliver stunning performances that bring Neuwirth's intricate compositions to life. With a duration of 1 hour and 5 minutes, this album is a testament to Olga Neuwirth's status as one of the most eminent composers of our time, offering a rich and rewarding listening experience.
