      About Erich Leinsdorf

      Erich Leinsdorf, born Erich Landauer, was an Austrian-born American conductor who left an indelible mark on the classical music world. Beginning his career as an assistant to legendary conductors Bruno Walter and Arturo Toscanini at the Salzburg Festival, Leinsdorf went on to become a respected figure in American classical music.
