      Album Details

Immerse yourself in the captivating world of Miklós Rózsa, a Hungarian composer renowned for his iconic film scores and classical compositions. This album, released on April 12, 2024, under the label Musical Concepts, showcases Rózsa's extraordinary talent through a collection of his most celebrated works. Spanning a duration of 1 hour and 16 minutes, the album features 14 tracks that encapsulate the essence of 20th-century classical music.

The centerpiece of the album is Rózsa's Violin Concerto, Op. 24, a three-movement masterpiece that highlights the composer's ability to blend passion and technical brilliance. The concerto is performed with exquisite precision by James Sedares, accompanied by the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Igor Gruppman.

In addition to the concerto, the album includes the Theme, Variations & Finale, Op. 13A, a work that demonstrates Rózsa's skill in developing a single theme into a rich tapestry of musical ideas. The Hungarian Nocturne, Op. 28, adds a touch of romanticism and nostalgia, while The Vintner's Daughter, Twelve Variations on a French Folksong, Op. 23A, showcases Rózsa's ability to infuse traditional folk melodies with classical sophistication.

This album is a testament to Miklós Rózsa's enduring legacy as one of the most influential composers of the 20th century. Whether you are a longtime fan of classical music or a newcomer to the genre, this collection offers a compelling introduction to the works of a true master.
