This mono version recording showcases Gitlis' extraordinary talent and deep musicality, making it a timeless addition to any classical music collection.

The album opens with Felix Mendelssohn's beloved Violin Concerto in E Minor, Op. 64. Composed in 1844, this concerto is celebrated for its lyrical melodies and technical brilliance. Gitlis' interpretation brings out the work's romantic charm and structural ingenuity, with each movement—from the impassioned Allegro molto appassionato to the lively Allegretto non troppo—expertly executed.

Following Mendelssohn's masterpiece is Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto in D Major, Op. 35. Written in 1878, this concerto is known for its dramatic flair and technical demands. Allegro vivacissimo, leaving listeners breathless and eager for more.
