      Maestro+Maestro=Exciting Duo - Gianni Basso

      Album Details

In the heart of Italy, on a chilly February evening in 1983, jazz legends Gianni Basso and Guido Manusardi convened at the Montallegro Restaurant in Induno Olona to create something magical. The result was "Maestro+Maestro=Exciting Duo," a live album that captures the essence of their exhilarating musical chemistry. This vinyl LP, released under the Splasc(h) Records label, is a testament to the duo's virtuosity and their shared passion for jazz.

The album, recorded in its entirety in one captivating session, features seven timeless tracks that showcase the duo's impeccable technique and deep musical understanding. From the swinging "Oleo" to the sultry "Misty," each song is a masterclass in jazz improvisation, with Basso's clarinet and Manusardi's piano weaving intricate melodies that dance and intertwine.

The album's cover, adorned with an illustration titled "Due in uno" by Peppo Spagnoli, perfectly encapsulates the spirit of the collaboration. The artwork, combined with the live recording's raw energy, makes "Maestro+Maestro=Exciting Duo" an essential addition to any jazz enthusiast's collection. This album is not just a collection of songs but a snapshot of a moment in time, where two masters came together to create something truly special.
