This collection showcases the breadth of Leighton's compositional career, spanning over three decades, and is brought to life by the masterful playing of Margaret Fingerhut.

The album opens with Leighton's Piano Sonata, Op. 64, a work that demonstrates his unique voice and innovative approach to the sonata form. The sonata is followed by a set of five Preludes, each offering a distinct mood and character, from the introspective No. 1 in D Minor to the joyful No. 4 in C Major. These pieces provide a fascinating insight into Leighton's compositional style and his ability to evoke a wide range of emotions through his music.

From the serene "Landscape" to the playful "Woodsprites," each piece is a miniature masterpiece, showcasing Leighton's gift for melody and his keen sense of harmony.

The album concludes with Leighton's Piano Sonata No. 3, Op. 27, another significant work that highlights his compositional prowess.
