      Album Details

Immerse yourself in the captivating world of Édouard Lalo's compositions with Alexandre Da Costa's exquisite interpretation of "Lalo: Symphonie espagnole, Namouna, Suites Nos 1 & 2, Scherzo in D minor." Released on August 1, 2012, under Warner Classics International, this album is a testament to Da Costa's virtuosity and the rich, romantic orchestral works of Lalo.

The album opens with the "Symphonie Espagnole Op.21," a piece that showcases Da Costa's technical prowess and expressive depth. The five movements of this symphony, from the lively "Allegro non troppo" to the spirited "Rondo [Allegro]," are performed with a brilliance that brings out the Spanish flair and emotional resonance of Lalo's music.

Following the symphony, the album delves into the enchanting "Namouna" suites. Suite No. 1 and Suite No. 2, each consisting of five movements, offer a diverse range of moods and styles. From the exotic "Danse marocaine" to the playful "Fête foraine," these suites are a journey through Lalo's imaginative and colorful orchestral palette. The "Scherzo for Orchestra in D Minor" concludes the album, adding a dramatic and dynamic finale to this collection of Lalo's masterpieces.

With a total duration of 1 hour and 17 minutes, this album is a comprehensive exploration of Lalo's works, beautifully conducted by Carlos Kalmar and performed by the Orquesta Sinfónica de Radio Televisión Española. Alexandre Da Costa's violin playing is a highlight, adding a personal touch to these timeless compositions. Whether you're a classical music enthusiast or new to the genre, this album is a delightful and enriching listening experience.
