Immerse yourself in the captivating world of Krzysztof Meyer's piano compositions with "Krzysztof Meyer: Piano Works, Vol. 2." Released on August 7, 2015, under the DUX label, this album is a testament to Meyer's mastery of chamber music, offering a rich and diverse collection of his piano sonatas and intermezzi. Spanning a total of 78 minutes, the album features six sonatas and six intermezzi, each piece a unique exploration of emotion, rhythm, and melody.

The album opens with the Piano Sonata No. 4, Op. 22, a six-movement work that showcases Meyer's ability to blend lyrical beauty with structural complexity. The sonata's movements, titled "Tesi," "Interludio I," "Movimento," "Interludio II," "Canti," and "Epilogo," take the listener on a journey through a variety of moods and tempos, from the reflective to the exuberant.

Following this is the Piano Sonata No. 5, Op. 32, subtitled "Sonate de sons rayonnants" (Sonata of Radiant Sounds). This four-movement work is notable for its dynamic contrasts and rich harmonic language, with movements titled "Dolente," "Prestissimo, furioso," "Lento, molto cantabile," and "Ossesivo."

The album concludes with the Piano Sonata No. 6, Op. 106, subtitled "Sonate breve" (Short Sonata), and the six intermezzi from Op. 121. These final pieces offer a mix of introspection and virtuosity, with titles such as "Semplice, ma espressivo," "Con moto," and "Agitato" hinting at the varied emotional landscapes explored within.
