      About Scram and Dawda

Scram and Dawda is a captivating musical collaboration that emerged from a fortuitous encounter between the Scandinavian quartet Scram and the virtuoso kora player Dawda Jobarteh. Formed in 2015, Scram consists of Anders Banke, Martin Andersen, Gunnar Halle, and Thommy Andersson, who bring a rich tapestry of musical influences to the table. Their fateful meeting with Dawda Jobarteh, a descendant of the renowned Gambian musical dynasty of Alhaji Bai Konte, at a gig in Zanzibar in 2018, sparked a unique fusion of sounds that transcends borders and genres. Together, they create a mesmerizing blend of traditional and contemporary music, as heard on their album "Kou Kou," featuring tracks like "Duwa" and "Yelli Yelli." With their enchanting melodies and rhythmic prowess, Scram and Dawda offer a sonic journey that is both innovative and deeply rooted in cultural heritage.
