      Album Details

Karl Höller's "Fantasie, Improvisationen and Triptychon - Music for Violin, Cello and Organ" is a captivating exploration of the composer's intricate and expressive works, released in 2016 under the MSR Classics label. This album spans a total of 70 minutes, featuring nine tracks that showcase Höller's mastery in blending the rich textures of violin, cello, and organ.

The album opens with the "Fantasie for Violin and Organ, Op. 49," a piece that immediately draws the audience into a world of melodic depth and harmonic complexity. Following this is the "Triptychon for Organ, Op. 64 'Victimae paschali laudes'," divided into three distinct movements: "Improvisation 'Amen'," "Ricercar 'Dic nobis, Maria'," and "Postludium 'Amen. Alleluja'. Each movement offers a unique perspective on the sacred text, showcasing Höller's ability to convey spiritual depth through music.

The "Improvisationen for Cello and Organ, Op. 55 'Schonster Herr Jesus'" forms the heart of the album, consisting of five movements that range from the contemplative "Ruhig beginnen, frei deklamierend" to the lively "Lebhaft und markiert."
