Immerse yourself in the timeless elegance of classical music with Emanuel Feuermann's exquisite rendition of Joseph Haydn's "Cello Concerto In D Major, Op. 101" and Felix Mendelssohn's "Cello Sonata In D Major, Op. 58." Released in 2015 under the RHI label, this chamber music album spans a concise yet captivating 50 minutes, showcasing Feuermann's mastery of the cello.

The album opens with Haydn's concerto, a three-movement piece that begins with the lively "Allegro moderato," followed by the serene "Adagio," and concludes with the spirited "Rondo - Allegro." Feuermann's performance is accompanied by the London Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Sir Malcolm Sargent, adding depth and richness to the music.

The second half of the album features Mendelssohn's sonata, a four-movement work that starts with the energetic "Allegro Assai Vivace," continues with the playful "Slegretto Scherzando," delves into the introspective "Adagio," and culminates in the vibrant "Molto Allegro E Vivace." Feuermann's collaboration with pianist Franz Rupp brings out the nuances and complexities of Mendelssohn's composition.

This album is a testament to his enduring legacy, offering a glimpse into the world of classical music through the lens of two of its most celebrated composers.
