      Album Details

Joe Hisaishi, the renowned Japanese composer, conductor, and pianist, presents his latest masterpiece, "Joe Hisaishi Conducts," released on August 8, 2025, under Universal Music LLC in collaboration with Deutsche Grammophon. This album is a captivating blend of Japanese classical and anime genres, showcasing Hisaishi's exceptional talent and versatility.

The album features two main works: Steve Reich's "The Desert Music" and Hisaishi's own composition, "The End of the World (Version for Soprano)." "The Desert Music" is a five-movement suite that explores a range of tempos and moods, from fast and energetic to slow and contemplative. "The End of the World," on the other hand, is a four-movement work that delves into themes of collapse, grace, and transcendence, with a final movement that offers a glimpse beyond our world.

Performed by the Future Orchestra Classics (FOC) and the Philharmonic Chorus, with Ella Taylor as the soprano soloist, the album spans 12 tracks and a total duration of 1 hour and 20 minutes. Hisaishi's meticulous conducting and the orchestra's impeccable performance bring these compositions to life, creating a rich and immersive musical experience.

In 2025, Joe Hisaishi made his debut with the Cleveland Orchestra and also conducted the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall in London. This album captures the essence of these performances, offering fans a chance to experience Hisaishi's music in its full glory. Whether you're a long-time fan of Hisaishi's work or a newcomer to his music, "Joe Hisaishi Conducts" is sure to leave a lasting impression.
