      About Sergey Ostrovsky

      Sergey Ostrovsky is a renowned violinist, conductor, and professor of violin at the Geneva Haute Ecole de Musique. Born in 1975 in Gorky (now Nizhny Novgorod), Russia, to a family of musicians, Ostrovsky began his violin journey at the age of six. He studied under the guidance of David Lapidus and now plays a prestigious 1716 violin made by Giovanni. As the first violinist and founder of the "Aviv" string quartet, Ostrovsky has made a significant impact in the world of chamber music. His passion for education extends to conducting both youth and professional orchestras, showcasing his dedication to nurturing the next generation of musicians. With a proud Israeli and Jewish heritage, Ostrovsky's performances are a testament to his rich cultural background and exceptional musical talent.
