      About Jan Lundgren

      Jan Lundgren, born in the small town of Olofström, Blekinge, has emerged as a globally renowned Swedish jazz pianist and composer, captivating audiences with his melodic prowess and rhythmic finesse. Since 2005, he has called Ystad home, where he also serves as the Artistic Director of the Ystad Sweden Jazz Festival and the Ystad Winter Piano Fest. Lundgren's international acclaim is underscored by his status as a Steinway Artist and his extensive touring schedule, which has taken him to stages worldwide. His discography, released under the prestigious German label ACT, spans over four decades and showcases his unique blend of swinging, driving, and thoughtful modern jazz. Beyond his performing career, Lundgren is also a dedicated educator, holding a senior lecturer position at the Malmö Academy of Music since 1991. His work as a composer and pianist continues to inspire and influence the jazz community, making him a true ambassador of Swedish jazz.
