      About Bachir Attar

      Bachir Attar, born in 1964, is a Moroccan musician and the charismatic leader of The Master Musicians of Jajouka. Hailing from the small village of Jajouka in the Djebala hills of Northern Morocco, Attar is a custodian of one of the world's oldest musical traditions, carrying on the legacy of his father, Hadj Abdesalam Attar. Under Bachir's leadership, the group has gained international acclaim, with their unique blend of Jbala Sufi trance music captivating audiences worldwide. Attar's collaboration with iconic figures like Brian Jones of The Rolling Stones has further cemented his status as a pioneering force in world music. With a discography that spans decades, Bachir Attar's music is not just a listening experience but a journey into the rich cultural heritage of Morocco.
