      Eugene Ellsworth Rousseau, a celebrated American classical saxophonist, captivated audiences with his masterful performances on the alto and soprano saxophones. Born on August 23, 1932, in Blue Island, Illinois, Rousseau's musical journey began in the vibrant dance clubs of the Chicago area during his teenage years. His career flourished as he transitioned into the classical music scene, becoming a renowned educator and performer. Rousseau co-founded the World Saxophone Congress in 1969 and served as President of both the North American Saxophone Alliance and the Comité International du Saxophone. His contributions to the world of saxophone music have left an indelible mark, making him a beloved figure in the classical music community.
