      Dawda Jobarteh, a renowned kora player hailing from The Gambia, is a master of his craft, carrying on the rich musical legacy of his father, Amadu Bansang Jobarteh, the country's most celebrated kora player. Born into a hereditary line of Mande griots, Dawda's journey began with drumming before transitioning to the kora, an instrument he plays with extraordinary skill. His music is a blend of traditional West African sounds and contemporary influences, reflecting his global experiences, including his residence in Denmark since 1999. Dawda's collaborations, such as with Danish percussionist Stefan Pasborg, showcase his versatility and innovative spirit.
