      Francis Lai, born in Nice, France, in 1932, was a self-taught musical prodigy who captivated audiences worldwide with his enchanting film scores. His career spanned over five decades, during which he composed music for more than 100 films, collaborating extensively with renowned director Claude Lelouch.
