      Album Details

Immerse yourself in the rich and diverse musical landscape of Howard Hanson's "Hanson: The Composer & His Orchestra." Released in 1996 by Decca Music Group Ltd., this classical album is a testament to Hanson's prowess as a composer and conductor, showcasing his ability to blend orchestral brilliance with evocative storytelling.

The album opens with the enchanting "Merry Mount Suite," a four-movement work that transports you to a world of whimsy and romance. From the playful "Children's Dance" to the tender "Love Duet," Hanson's compositions are both technically impressive and deeply expressive.

The "Mosaics" section of the album offers a series of shorter pieces, each with its own unique character. From the haunting beauty of "Deep Forest" to the lively energy of "Dance," these mosaics paint a vivid picture of Hanson's versatility.

The centerpiece of the album is the "Piano Concerto in G Major, Op. 36," a four-movement concerto that highlights Hanson's ability to create complex, emotionally resonant works. The concerto is a journey through a range of emotions, from the tranquil "Lento molto" to the exuberant "Allegro giocoso."

"Hanson: The Composer & His Orchestra" is a celebration of his legacy, offering a glimpse into the mind of a true musical innovator.
