Eddie Higgins, a name synonymous with elegance and sophistication in the jazz world, presents "A Handful Of Stars," a captivating album that showcases his mastery of the piano and his ability to weave enchanting melodies. Released in 2009 under Venus Records, this album is a testament to Higgins' enduring talent and his deep understanding of the jazz idiom.

Recorded at the prestigious Avatar Studio in New York, "A Handful Of Stars" features a stellar lineup, including the renowned saxophonists Scott Hamilton and Ken Peplowski, bassist Jay Leonhart, and drummer Joe Ascione. This quintet delivers a performance that is as tight as it is expressive, with each musician contributing their unique voice to the ensemble.

Higgins' delicate touch on the piano is evident, as he navigates the intricate harmonies with ease. The album also includes standout tracks like "Come Rain Or Come Shine," a classic jazz standard that the quintet breathes new life into, and "Night Has A Thousand Eyes," a hauntingly beautiful piece that showcases the group's dynamic range.

"April In Torino" is another highlight, with its lively rhythm and infectious melody. The album also features a rendition of the classic "Flamingo," which is given a fresh, modern twist by the quintet.
