      About Geori Boue

      Geori Boué, born Georgette Boué, was a celebrated French soprano renowned for her captivating performances in the French operatic repertoire. Born in Toulouse in 1918, Boué's journey began at the young age of seven when she commenced her musical education at the Toulouse Conservatory, studying voice, piano, and harp. Her professional debut came in 1938 at the Capitole de Toulouse, where she quickly established herself as a formidable presence, particularly in roles like Marguerite in "Faust," Juliette in "Roméo et Juliette," and Violetta in "La traviata."

      Boué's career flourished as she took on iconic roles such as Thais and Salomé in Massenet's operas, becoming particularly associated with these works. Her talent and charisma led her to perform in prestigious venues across Europe, including La Scala in Milan, the Bolshoi Opera in Moscow, and the Opéra Comique and Palais Garnier in Paris. She also ventured into operetta, starring in pieces like Offenbach's "La Belle Hélène" and Lehar's "The Merry Widow."

      In addition to her stage performances, Boué's discography is a testament to her artistry, featuring notable recordings of works like "Thais" and "Faust." Her voice, known for its brilliance and range, made her a beloved figure in the opera world. After an illustrious career, Boué retired from performing and dedicated herself to teaching, sharing her extensive knowledge and passion with the next generation of singers.
