      Album Details

Immerse yourself in the captivating world of classical piano with Cécile Ousset's stunning album, featuring two of the most beloved piano concertos in the repertoire. Recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Neville Marriner, this album showcases Ousset's virtuosic skill and deep musicality.

The first half of the album is dedicated to Felix Mendelssohn's Piano Concerto No. 1 in G Minor, Op. 25. Composed when Mendelssohn was just 20 years old, this concerto is a testament to his prodigious talent. Ousset's playing is both fiery and delicate, bringing out the full range of emotions in this dramatic work.

The second half of the album features Edvard Grieg's Piano Concerto in A Minor, Op. 16. This concerto is a cornerstone of the romantic piano concerto repertoire, and Ousset's interpretation is both lyrical and powerful. The slow movement, in particular, is a highlight, with Ousset's playing imbued with a deep sense of longing and tenderness.

Throughout the album, Ousset's playing is characterized by a remarkable clarity of tone and phrasing, as well as a deep understanding of the musical structures. The London Symphony Orchestra provides a rich and nuanced accompaniment, with Marriner's conducting bringing out the full drama and subtlety of these works.

This album is a testament to Cécile Ousset's artistry and her deep connection to these works. Whether you're a seasoned classical music fan or a newcomer to the genre, this album is sure to captivate and inspire.
