      Album Details

Immerse yourself in the intricate and captivating world of Leopold Godowsky's "Renaissance," a masterful collection of piano transcriptions released in 2011 as part of the Godowsky Edition series. This volume, titled "Vol. 6 - Renaissance," showcases Godowsky's extraordinary ability to reinterpret classical works, offering a fresh perspective on compositions by renowned composers such as Rameau, Schobert, Corelli, Lully, Dandrieu, and Scarlatti.

Spanning a duration of 1 hour and 18 minutes, this album is a testament to Godowsky's virtuosity and his deep appreciation for the Baroque and Classical periods. Each of the 16 tracks is a meticulously crafted transcription, demonstrating Godowsky's unique approach to the piano. From the elegant "Sarabande in E Major" by Rameau to the lively "Gavotte in A Minor" by the same composer, the album is a journey through a variety of musical styles and moods.

Performer Carlo Grante brings these transcriptions to life with a level of technical prowess and artistic sensitivity that does justice to Godowsky's vision. Whether you're a seasoned classical music enthusiast or a newcomer to the genre, "Renaissance" offers a rich and rewarding listening experience. Dive into the intricate melodies and harmonies, and let the timeless beauty of these compositions resonate with you.
