      About Giacinto Scelsi

Giacinto Scelsi, an Italian composer of aristocratic lineage, was born on January 8, 1905, near Naples. Renowned for his avant-garde and minimalist compositions, Scelsi's work is distinctive for its exploration of a single pitch, meticulously altered through microtonal oscillations and harmonic nuances. His prolific career spanned over a century, yielding more than 100 works, including orchestral pieces, chamber music, and solo compositions. Beyond music, Scelsi was also a surrealist poet, penning works in French. His innovative approach to sound and his enigmatic persona have cemented his status as one of the most original composers of the 20th century.
