      About Richard Leech

      Richard Leech is an acclaimed American operatic tenor, celebrated for his lyric roles and powerful performances. Born on March 26, 1957, Leech's journey into opera began unexpectedly at the age of 15, leading him to become one of America's most prominent classical vocal stars from the mid-1990s onward. A recipient of the prestigious Richard Tucker Award in 1988, Leech has captivated audiences with his rich tenor voice and compelling stage presence. In addition to his illustrious career on the opera stage, Leech has also made significant contributions as a voice teacher and vocal coach. As of Fall 2023, he joined the faculty of George Mason University's Reva and Sid Dewberry School of Music as an Associate Professor of Voice and Opera, sharing his expertise and passion with the next generation of singers.
