      Benny Bailey, born Ernest Harold Bailey on August 13, 1925, in Cleveland, Ohio, was a pioneering American jazz trumpeter renowned for his mastery of bebop and hard bop. Initially a pianist and flutist, Bailey found his true calling in the trumpet, leaving an indelible mark on the jazz world. He is perhaps best known for his electrifying contributions to the iconic Eddie Harris/Les McCann album "Swiss Movement." Bailey's career flourished in Europe, where he received the recognition he deserved as an original and influential artist.
