      Album Details

Immerse yourself in the captivating world of Ferdinand David's violin concertos with this remarkable album, released on September 27, 2010, by Hyperion. Spanning just under an hour, this collection showcases David's virtuosity and the rich expressiveness of his compositions. The album features two complete violin concertos: the lively and spirited Concerto No. 4 in E Major, Op. 23, and the profound and dramatic Concerto No. 5 in D Minor, Op. 35. Each concerto is a journey in itself, with movements that range from the exhilarating Allegro to the tender Adagio, demonstrating David's mastery of both technical brilliance and emotional depth. Additionally, the album includes the enchanting Andante and Scherzo capriccioso, Op. 16, adding a delightful contrast to the concertos. Ferdinand David's compositions are brought to life with precision and passion, making this album a treasure trove for classical music enthusiasts.
