Fas/Nefas, Glenz, Flux/Reflux and Piano Concerto - Willem Jeths

      Album Details

Dive into the captivating world of Willem Jeths with his 2001 album, a compelling collection of four distinct compositions that showcase his mastery of orchestral and solo instrumentation. This album, released under the Donemus Composers' Voice label, spans a generous 88 minutes, offering a rich and immersive listening experience.

The album opens with "Fas/Nefas," a dynamic piece for piano and orchestra composed in 1997, followed by "Glenz," a work that premiered in 1994. "Flux/Reflux," another intriguing composition, precedes the three-movement "Piano Concerto," which was completed in 1997. Each track is a testament to Jeths' innovative approach to composition, blending traditional and contemporary elements to create a unique and engaging soundscape.

The album features performances by esteemed musicians, including Folke Nauta and the Noordhollands Philharmonisch Orkest, conducted by Thierry Fischer. The "Piano Concerto" is particularly noteworthy, with each of its three movements offering a different facet of Jeths' compositional prowess.

For those familiar with Jeths' later works, such as the "Bandoneon Concerto" and "Recorder Concerto," this album provides a fascinating glimpse into his earlier creative explorations. Whether you're a longtime admirer of Jeths' music or a newcomer eager to explore his work, this album is a rewarding journey through the mind of one of the most innovative composers of our time.
