      Album Details

This exquisite collection, released on March 18, 2015, under the Treasure Island label, showcases Kuhlau's mastery of orchestral and concerto forms, offering a rich tapestry of musical experiences that span a little over an hour.

The album opens with the lively and evocative "Elverhoej Overture Op. 100," setting the stage for the intricate and harmonious "Concertino for two horns and orchestra." This piece, divided into five distinct movements, displays Kuhlau's skillful composition, blending the rich tones of the horns with the full orchestral ensemble. Each movement, from the serene "Adagio non troppo" to the spirited "Allegro alla polacca," offers a unique emotional journey.

The second half of the album features the "Concerto for piano and orchestra Op. 7," a three-movement work that highlights Kuhlau's ability to create dynamic and engaging piano concertos. The "Allegro" movements are filled with energy and virtuosity, while the "Adagio" provides a moment of introspective beauty.
