Unico Wilhelm van Wassenaer, born into one of the Netherlands' oldest and most influential noble families, was a man of many talents: diplomat, administrator, and composer. Born in 1692 at the family castle of Twickel, near Delden, van Wassenaer's musical journey began in The Hague, where he received his early education in harpsichord and violin.
