      Abraham Adzinyah, born in the vibrant town of Agona Swedru, Ghana, is a renowned Fante Master Drummer, percussionist, ethnomusicologist, and educator who has left an indelible mark on the world of music. With a career spanning over four decades, Adzinyah has not only mastered the art of drumming but has also dedicated his life to teaching and preserving West African music, dance, and culture. His journey began with formal studies in music, dance, and drama at the Institute of African Studies, followed by academic pursuits at Goddard College and Wesleyan University. Adzinyah's extensive discography and collaborations with legendary artists reflect his versatility and deep understanding of both traditional African rhythms and free jazz. After retiring from his long tenure at Wesleyan University, his influence continues to inspire new generations of musicians and music lovers worldwide.
