      Album Details

Soulive's debut album "Doin' Something," released in March 2001 under Blue Note Records, is a vibrant fusion of jazz funk, acid jazz, and soul jazz that sets the stage for their signature sound. Produced by Jeff Krasno, Bob Brockmann, and Yaron Fuchs, the album is a testament to Soulive's ability to create danceable, organ-driven instrumental grooves that captivate the listener from start to finish.

Featuring 11 tracks, including the title track "Doin' Something" and collaborations with renowned guitarist John Scofield, the album spans a full hour of dynamic and engaging music. Standout tracks like "Cannonball" and "Shaheed" showcase Soulive's knack for blending jazz improvisation with infectious rhythms, while "Bridge To Bama" and "Solid" highlight their soulful and melodic side. The hidden track featuring Joe Sample adds an extra layer of depth and surprises at the end of the album.

Soulive's "Doin' Something" is a must-listen for fans of jazz fusion and funk, offering a fresh and energetic take on the genre. The album's seamless blend of styles and impeccable musicianship make it a standout release in Soulive's discography and a timeless addition to any music collection.
