Immerse yourself in the enchanting world of Frederick Delius with this captivating album, released on May 1, 1992, under Decca Music Group Ltd. This collection showcases Delius' masterful compositions, performed by the esteemed Welsh National Opera Orchestra, with Sir Charles Mackerras conducting and Tasmin Little on violin. About Frederick Delius

Frederick Delius, born into a wealthy mercantile family in Bradford, England, was a composer who defied conventional paths. Rather than following his family's wishes to enter the world of commerce, Delius pursued his passion for music. In 1884, he was sent to Florida to manage an orange plantation, but his heart was not in the business. Instead, he immersed himself in the local music and culture, which significantly influenced his compositions. Returning to Europe in 1886, Delius dedicated himself to his true calling, creating a body of work that reflects his unique experiences and artistic vision.
