      Deirdre Gribbin is a distinguished Northern Irish composer renowned for her astonishingly accomplished and magical compositions. Born in Belfast, Gribbin's work is deeply influenced by her Celtic roots and Catholic background, creating a unique and captivating musical language. Her portfolio spans across various genres, including opera, music theatre, and orchestral works, with her violin concerto 'Venus Blazing' being particularly notable.

      Gribbin's educational journey is impressive, with degrees from Queen's University Belfast, Guildhall School of Music, London, Trinity College, Cambridge, and Princeton University. She is a Professor in Composition at the Royal College of Music and Trinity Laban, and the artistic director of the Venus Blazing Music Trust. Her accolades include the PRS Woman in Music Award and a Fulbright Fellowship, underscoring her significant contributions to the contemporary music scene.
