      Degradation Trip - Jerry Cantrell

      Album Details

Jerry Cantrell, the renowned guitarist and vocalist from Alice in Chains, delivers a powerful and introspective solo effort with "Degradation Trip." Released on June 10, 2002, via Roadrunner Records, this post-grunge masterpiece is Cantrell's second solo album, following his 1998 debut "Boggy Depot." With a runtime of 1 hour and 12 minutes, "Degradation Trip" features 14 tracks that showcase Cantrell's signature gritty vocals and heavy riffs, reminiscent of his work with Alice in Chains.

The album opens with the explosive "Psychotic Break," setting the tone for the raw and unfiltered journey that follows. Standout tracks like "Anger Rising," "Hellbound," and the haunting "Mother's Spinning in Her Grave (Glass Dick Jones)" highlight Cantrell's ability to blend personal struggles with hard-hitting rock anthems. The album also includes the poignant ballad "She Was My Girl," showcasing Cantrell's versatility as a songwriter.

"Degradation Trip" was so well-received that it was expanded into a double album, "Degradation Trip Volumes 1 & 2," released just five months later. This expanded edition features 11 additional tracks, providing fans with even more of Cantrell's signature sound. Whether you're a long-time fan of Jerry Cantrell or new to his solo work, "Degradation Trip" is a compelling addition to any rock collection.
