      Album Details

Dive into the enchanting world of contemporary jazz with Jakob Bro's "December Song," the captivating conclusion to his acclaimed Balladeering trilogy. Recorded at the prestigious Avatar Studios in New York City in December 2012, this album is a testament to Bro's artistic evolution and his deep respect for the jazz tradition. "December Song" is dedicated to the legendary drummer Paul Motian, adding a layer of homage to this exquisite collection.

The album features an impressive lineup of jazz virtuosos, including Jakob Bro on guitar and composition, Bill Frisell on guitar, Lee Konitz on saxophone, Craig Taborn on piano, and Thomas Morgan on bass. Their collective mastery shines through in each of the eight tracks, offering a rich tapestry of sounds that span 46 minutes of pure musical bliss.

From the opening notes of "Laxness" to the closing strains of "Vinterhymne," "December Song" showcases Bro's unique compositional style and his ability to blend traditional jazz elements with contemporary sensibilities. The album's eight tracks, including standouts like "Giant" and "Tree House," are a journey through Bro's musical landscape, each piece telling its own story while contributing to the overarching narrative of the trilogy.

Released on October 1, 2013, under Loveland Records, "December Song" is a celebration of jazz in its purest form. Whether you're a seasoned jazz enthusiast or a newcomer to the genre, this album offers a rewarding listening experience that highlights the beauty and complexity of contemporary jazz.
