      Album Details

Serge Baudo, a renowned conductor, presents a captivating journey through the works of Debussy, Beethoven, Satie, and Devriès in this 2014 release. The album, spanning 1 hour and 36 minutes, is a testament to Baudo's versatility and mastery, offering a diverse range of compositions that showcase the evolution of classical music.

The album opens with Claude Debussy's "Jeux," a piece that sets the stage for the intricate and imaginative compositions that follow. Baudo then masterfully conducts Beethoven's "Piano Concerto No. 5 in E-Flat Major, Op. 73 'Emperor'," a cornerstone of the classical repertoire. The concerto's three movements are performed with precision and passion, highlighting Baudo's deep understanding of Beethoven's genius.

Erik Satie's "Parade" follows, a work that blends classical and avant-garde elements, showcasing Baudo's ability to navigate diverse musical styles. The suite's playful and whimsical nature provides a delightful contrast to the more serious works on the album.

The album concludes with Philippe Gaubert's orchestration of "Trois mouvements symphoniques sur des rythmes de jazz" by Jacques Ibert, a piece that fuses classical and jazz elements. Baudo's interpretation brings out the rhythmic complexity and harmonic richness of this unique composition.
