      Album Details

"Dear Mademoiselle": A Tribute to Nadia Boulanger is a captivating journey through the world of chamber music, curated by the talented cellist Astrig Siranossian. Released on November 6, 2020, under the Alpha Classics label, this album is a heartfelt homage to the influential composer and teacher Nadia Boulanger. Spanning a duration of 72 minutes, the album features 16 tracks that showcase a diverse range of compositions, including works by Boulanger herself, as well as pieces by Stravinsky, Glass, and others.

The album opens with the evocative "Le grand tango," followed by a suite of Italian-inspired pieces that highlight Siranossian's virtuosic technique and expressive depth. The "3 Pieces for Cello and Piano" and the "Sonata for Cello and Piano" offer a glimpse into Siranossian's interpretive prowess, as she navigates the intricate melodies and harmonies with grace and precision. The album also features a medley of popular French songs, arranged for cello and piano, adding a touch of whimsy to the otherwise classical repertoire.

Throughout the album, Siranossian is joined by pianist Nathanaël Gouin and pianist Daniel Barenboim, whose collaborative performances bring a sense of warmth and intimacy to the recordings. The album's thoughtful curation and impeccable performances make it a standout release in the world of chamber music, offering both seasoned enthusiasts and casual listeners a rich and rewarding listening experience.
