      Album Details

Immerse yourself in the captivating world of Akira Eguchi's "Dear America," a classical album released in 2002 under the NYS Classics label. This 57-minute journey through chamber music and classical genres showcases Eguchi's virtuosity and deep connection with the works of George Gershwin.

The album opens with the iconic "Rhapsody in Blue," a piece that has become synonymous with American musical heritage. Eguchi's interpretation is followed by a rendition of "Jeannie with the Light Brown Hair," a sentimental melody that highlights his expressive playing. The centerpiece of the album is the "Fantasy on Porgy and Bess" for two pianos, a suite that Eguchi performs with sensitivity and nuance, bringing Gershwin's operatic masterpiece to life in a unique and engaging way.

Eguchi's extensive touring history across the United States and Europe brings an international perspective to his performances, enriching his interpretations of these beloved pieces.
