      About Harry Pepl

      Harry Pepl, born on September 10, 1945, in Vienna, was an Austrian jazz guitarist and composer who left an indelible mark on the music scene. With a career spanning several decades, Pepl was known for his exceptional skill on the guitar and his ability to blend classical and jazz influences seamlessly. He began his professional journey as a session player in the Austrian Broadcasting Company's in-house big band, the ORF Big Band, from 1971 to 1977. Pepl's discography includes notable works such as "Werner Pirchner / Harry Pepl / Jack DeJohnette," showcasing his collaborative spirit and musical versatility. His music, characterized by its rich textures and innovative arrangements, continues to captivate audiences worldwide. Harry Pepl passed away on December 5, 2005, in Wiener Neustadt, but his legacy as a pioneering figure in Austrian jazz endures.
