Born and educated in Zurich, she moved to England in 1986 to join esteemed ensembles like John Eliot Gardiner's English Baroque Soloists and Trevor Pinnock's The English Concert. Her career took a significant turn when she met composer and bassist Barry Guy, with whom she co-founded Maya Recordings in 1991.
