      About Capel Bond

Capel Bond, born on 14 December 1730, was an English organist and composer whose musical legacy endures through his notable works. As the organist at St. Michael's and All Trinity in Coventry and later at Holy Trinity, Bond's compositions reflect the rich musical traditions of his time. His only known works, "Six Concertos in Seven Parts" (1766) and "Six Anthems in Score" (1769), showcase his mastery of form and harmony. Bond's music, particularly his Concerto No. 6 in B-flat major for bassoon, string orchestra, and continuo, offers a glimpse into the elegant and refined style of 18th-century English composition. Though his life was cut short on 14 February 1790, Capel Bond's contributions to music continue to captivate and inspire.
