      Album Details

Frederick Delius, renowned for his distinctive and evocative compositions, presents "Call Boat," a captivating collection of songs and symphonic poems released on January 1, 2015, under the Rick Carson label. This album, spanning 52 minutes, offers a deep dive into Delius's unique musical language, which often explores the tension between connectedness and separation.

"Call Boat" features twelve tracks, each a testament to Delius's ability to articulate complex emotions through music. The album opens with "Everybody Will Change," setting the tone for a journey through Delius's introspective and often melancholic soundscapes. Standout tracks like "You Just Go" and "Father Told Me" showcase Delius's mastery of orchestral and vocal arrangements, while "Missing In The Aea" and "Only the Season Remembers" highlight his impressionistic influences.

Delius, often described as an English Impressionist, brings his unique perspective to this album. Born in England to German parents, his diverse background is reflected in the rich tapestry of sounds and influences present in "Call Boat." The album is a testament to Delius's enduring legacy, offering both longtime fans and newcomers a chance to experience his distinctive musical voice.

Whether you're familiar with Delius's work or discovering it for the first time, "Call Boat" is an album that demands attention and repeated listens. It's a collection that showcases Delius's ability to create music that is both deeply personal and universally resonant.

      About Frederick Delius

Frederick Delius, born into a wealthy mercantile family in Bradford, England, was a composer who defied conventional paths. Rather than following his family's wishes to enter the world of commerce, Delius pursued his passion for music. In 1884, he was sent to Florida to manage an orange plantation, but his heart was not in the business. Instead, he immersed himself in the local music and culture, which significantly influenced his compositions. Returning to Europe in 1886, Delius dedicated himself to his true calling, creating a body of work that reflects his unique experiences and artistic vision.
