      Album Details

Immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of Italian Baroque music with this exquisite album featuring the works of Antonio Caldara and Ottorino Respighi. At the heart of this release is Antonio Caldara's "Gloria in C Major," a monumental 14-movement composition that has been transcribed, performed, and recorded for the first time ever. This masterpiece, penned during Caldara's tenure with the Duke of Mantua, showcases the opulent sacred music of Venetian tradition, with its intricate harmonies and vivid orchestration.

Complementing Caldara's "Gloria" is Ottorino Respighi's "Lauda per la natività del Signore, P. 166," a captivating cantata that seamlessly blends medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque musical elements. Respighi's work, written two centuries after Caldara's, provides a striking contrast and a fascinating dialogue between the past and the present.

This album is a testament to the enduring power of Italian Baroque music, brought to life by the Intende Voci Ensemble and Orchestra Canova under the direction of Mirko Guadagnini. The performances are marked by their precision, passion, and deep understanding of the historical context, making this a truly unforgettable listening experience. The album features a stellar cast of soloists, including Cristina Fanelli, Leo Zappitelli, and Alessandro Ravasio, among others, who bring their exceptional talents to these timeless compositions. Whether you're a seasoned classical music enthusiast or a newcomer to the genre, this album offers a captivating journey through the rich musical heritage of Italy.
