      Album Details

Immerse yourself in the exquisite world of Baroque cantatas with Antonio Caldara's masterful collection, a treasure trove of vocal and instrumental brilliance. This album, released in 2005 under the Capriccio label, showcases five of Caldara's most captivating cantatas, each a testament to his unparalleled compositional skill and deep understanding of the human voice.

The album opens with "Amante recidivo (Che speravi)," a dramatic exploration of love and longing that sets the stage for the emotional journeys to come. The cantatas "Non v'e pena" and "Vedro senz'onde il mare" follow, each offering a unique blend of recitatives and arias that highlight the virtuosity of the performers and the richness of Caldara's musical language.

"Da tuoi lumi" and "Sempre mi torna in mente" round out the collection, providing a sense of closure and reflection. The latter features a particularly stunning "Aria con violini," where the interplay between voice and strings creates a mesmerizing sonic landscape.

Conductor Karsten Erik Ose and the ensemble Ornamente 99 bring these works to life with precision and passion, accompanied by the stunning vocals of Max Emanuel Cenčić. The album's duration of just over an hour ensures a satisfying listening experience, making it an excellent addition to any classical music enthusiast's collection.

Whether you're a seasoned fan of Baroque music or a newcomer to the genre, this album offers a rich and rewarding exploration of Antonio Caldara's artistic genius.
