      Album Details

Dive into the cool, sophisticated world of Al Cohn with his 1992 album "Broadway," a timeless collection that showcases the masterful saxophonist's prowess in cool jazz and hard bop. This album, released under the Original Jazz Classics label, is a testament to Cohn's enduring legacy in the jazz genre, offering a blend of instrumental tracks and live takes that highlight his versatility and artistry.

"Broadway" opens with the instrumental "Help Keep Your City Clean Blues," a track that sets the tone with its smooth, melodic lines and intricate improvisations. The album then delves into two takes of the title track, "Broadway," each offering a unique perspective on Cohn's compositional skills and improvisational genius. The first take is a sprawling, nine-minute exploration, while the second is a more concise, seven-minute version that packs a punch with its tight ensemble playing.
